This painting holds a special place in my Danish heart—not just for the scene it captures, but for the story woven into its creation.
It began on a brisk autumn day in Denmark, during the filming of a commercial for my major exhibition in November 2024.
My husband was there, carrying chairs and blankets to keep us comfortable in the chilly wind, while my daughter set up the camera and later edited the video footage. It was a true family effort.
I painted this piece alla prima, which means in one shop. I was working quickly on site to capture the fleeting light and atmosphere in a single session. Although the result was strong, I felt something was missing. Back in the studio, I kept returning to the canvas, seeking advice from fellow artists and making subtle adjustments. The process became a dialogue—between myself, my colleagues, and the painting itself.
This painting is to me the symbol of, how important good relations and cooperation is in life :-)
One day, a fellow artist looked at my work and simply said, “Stop. It’s perfect now.” That moment of affirmation meant everything.
The painting found its future home almost immediately after.
