This Danish painting, created in Johannes Larsen’s Garden on Funen (an huge island in Denmark), captures a scene under a rare tree with a bench, where Mrs. Johannes Larsen often sat and enjoyed the view over the sea (Which is not visible anymore). The garden was build by the artist to be his outside studio and he used it for his paintings - both studies and finished.

I just loved the bench and that the tree - and especially the story. I can imagine how she enjoyed sitting there in the mist of all the beauty in the garden.

The painting invites reflection and rest, and to enjoy the simplicity of nature and the course of history.
